Logo File Formats for Custom Printing
The source file used for a logo can affect edge quality, small details, and how well the artwork enlarges for a table cover, banner, flag, tent, backdrop, or sign. Send the original design file whenever possible. If you are unsure what you have, send the best available version rather than delaying your request.

Preferred source artwork
Vector artwork is usually the most flexible choice for logos, icons, lettering, and flat-color graphics because it can be enlarged without creating visible pixels. Common vector-oriented formats include AI, EPS, SVG, and some PDF files. A PDF is not automatically vector; it can also contain a low-resolution image placed inside the document.
Raster image files
PNG, JPG, JPEG, TIFF, and similar image formats are made from pixels. They can work well when the file contains enough detail for the intended print size. A small logo downloaded from a website, copied from an email signature, or captured in a screenshot may look acceptable on a phone while becoming soft or jagged when enlarged.
What to avoid
- Screenshots of logos or website graphics.
- Images copied from social-media profiles.
- Files repeatedly saved or compressed as JPG.
- Word-processing or presentation documents when the original logo file exists.
- Artwork with missing fonts, linked images, or unapproved wording.
If the original file is unavailable
Send the largest, clearest version you can find. Include an older printed sample or brand guide when available. Explain whether the artwork must match an existing sign, uniform, vehicle graphic, or corporate standard. The design team can review the submitted file and advise whether a cleaner source may be needed.
