Peak vs. Valance Printing on a Custom Tent

The peak and valance serve different viewing distances. Use them together to make your 10×10 tent recognizable from across an event and readable when customers approach.

Peak printing

Best for: a primary logo, mascot, recognizable symbol, or short brand mark.

The sloped peak occupies the largest front-facing visual area and is easier to notice at a distance. Keep essential details away from panel seams and avoid tiny text.

Valance printing

Best for: a business name, team name, web address, phone number, or short tagline.

The straight horizontal valance sits closer to eye level. Wide, simple artwork and high-contrast lettering generally read most clearly.

Peak + valance

Best for: most commercial and event tents.

Put the memorable logo on the peak and the readable organization name or message on the valance. This prevents either area from becoming overcrowded.

Three practical layouts

Goal Peak Valance
Brand recognition Large centered logo Company name or URL
Sports or school team Mascot or crest Team or school name
Event sales booth Brand logo Product category or short offer

Artwork recommendations

  • Use vector AI, EPS, SVG, or print-ready PDF artwork when available.
  • Choose strong contrast between the canopy color and the logo or lettering.
  • Avoid long sentences, very thin lettering, and small contact details.
  • Do not judge exact scale from a concept preview; the official production proof controls final placement.
  • Review the logo file guide and vector-versus-raster guide before submitting artwork.
